the little mermaid's tongue cut out by the sea witch, or her feet bleeding every time she walks-like "treading on sharp knives"). Now, granted this is a kid's film and they're not going to draw everything from the original tale (i.e. I would go so far as to suggest that they could've afforded to draw more from the older, much darker fairy tale of Hans Christian Anderson.
This film has the potential to set the tone by going back to the original fairy tale and finding some more of that depth, but I'm not quite sure it's there yet.

The Ariel we see in the movie has been silenced by her own father, again and again, when she has tried to convince him to leave behind prejudices and fears that she knows to be wrong-a plot point which I will examine later. Ariel is not without the ability to cry in the live-action version– but she is unable to speak, and that silencing was happening even before she gave her voice to Ursula. However, the nod to Hans Christian Anderson doesn’t necessarily have much relevance to the current film – there is no reference to Ariel’s inability to cry or feel. Then you start to get mad at yourself again, but you realize you only have a few more words to write and if you finish that (and maybe find a hat) then you can go eat. You want food, but you can't go out into the world with your hair sticking up and your breath smelling like Goldfish and sour cream and onion chips.
Then you realize as you begin to finish your article for the Odyssey that you haven't showered yet and it's almost 12:30 a.m. So instead, you watch a video someone posted that ended up in your news feed and you decide to start working again. It reads "good morning," but all you can think about is how you can't tell her how stressed out you are because she can't help. So you decide to take a break from looking at all your horribly written work and decide to go on Facebook, where you see you have a message from your mom. Then you suddenly get a wonderful idea and you start working, but that self-doubt creeps right back in and you realize it's actually trash and you scrap the entire script you just wrote for your film. Although we all grew up having our dream cars be Lamborghinis or Ferraris, we are now readily accepting the Tesla Roadster to be the dream car of the modern era.

He gave a glimpse of what was to come, an even faster and better upgrade model of the Tesla Roadster. The base model of the roadster will reach 0-60 mph in only 1.9 seconds, but Elon Musk had announced via Twitter that he wasn't going to limit himself there. Tesla announced its Roadster sports car, that will be going for $200,000 starting price but features that one can only wish for in their sports car. Just last week, Tesla offered innovation and a glimpse of the future, but still not the major concern of consumers. But they are quickly adjusting to this transition.Įlon Musk, earlier this year, had offered a sense of optimism to consumers including myself, that Tesla would soon be working to adjust to the basic consumer, rather than the limited wealthy consumer. Tesla has limited their scope of consumers as well as beautiful cars. Yet the problem that has surrounded Tesla is affordability and options.
